3VEREST - The Edge is the fifth game in an IP that explores the climb up Mount Everest from base to summit. In the fifth and final episode, the player resumes the climb from Camp 4 and must overcome the remaining challenges and reach the top of the world's highest mountain.

It was my second professional project, right after the fourth episode of 3VEREST. Although I was more comfortable and had a better grasp of how to work the narrative, the fact that it was the last in the franchise placed a lot of responsibility on my shoulders to help develop the game, which later became the most popular of the IP (surpassing 50,000 views) and won the "Best Sports Game of the Year 2024" award on The Sandbox platform.

Responsibilities

📚 All narrative and writing for the game

👥 Participation in playtests

⚙️ Mechanics creation

⚖️ Balance and progression

Highlights
  • Creation of the exclusive "Blizzard" mechanic to act narratively and simulate a real blizzard that occurs from time to time, hindering game progression (reduced movement during the event).

  • Narrative focused on gameplay, since The Edge is primarily a parkour game, with few Dialogues

  • Action-focused game design (rescue quests, garbage collection, and other approaches that portray real-life climbing challenges)

  • Mechanics for photographing the three main peaks at the highest point of Everest - "Bei Peak," "Nuptse," and "Lhotse"

  • IP closure upon reaching the summit of Mount Everest (dialogue and celebration)

Tools
  • Miro Whiteboard to organize the entire quest structure and gameplay I developed for the game

  • Google Sheets as a spreadsheet for dialogues and quests, with a responsive structure that allows you to monitor in real time what has already been implemented in the game

  • ClickUp to create tasks for the implementation team
